Day 1-Goodnight

I have to go to sleep...6 hours before I start the next day. But I had an interesting evening. Conversation with a new friend, and later conversation with a way back when friend. Both were nice, but I didn't want to get off the phone with my old friend...it's like the time never passed. Hopefully it will feel that way when I start to run again!

Day 1-No Run

Sometimes life can be funny, and so begins the first day I was to start training for a marathon. But not to worry, starting on September 1st sounds much more official doesn't it? Someone I recently met had a good friend pass away last night to cancer. So, instead of a run, I am going to have a margarita and talk.

Sometimes life has to come before running...like tonight.

Day 1 continued

This weekend I was thinking about how crappy I felt after not running for about 2 months, due to the extremely hot weather we were having since July 1, 2009. I relocated from Maryland last December, and as soon as my son and I hit Austin, I told myself, "I want to run a half Marathon," and trained for 2 months, and finished it in 2:10. So, I kind of got addicted to it, and started pushing my son in a jogging stroller almost daily after work, around Town Lake, in Austin.
But July hit me hard, and now we have a "cold front" of under 100 this week, and it just seemed like a great time to start up again.

So, I am super excited to finish work today, and hit the trail!

Day 1

At work, but decided to see what it takes to start a blog, and well I created one rather quickly. I don't know what happened, but I decided this weekend that I want to run the Austin Marathon in February, 2010. I did the half last February, so why not try the full, right?

I will continue later. I am going to do a jog/fast walk with 4 1/2 year old in tow in stroller to start off the 6 month training. Yeah!
